I'm guilty once again of neglecting my blog, but that's always the first thing to go, isn't it?
First of all, a big blushy thanks to Annie for the shoutout on her blog! I don't have my bookmarks on this computer, so I'll have to tag some other people when I have them in front of me.
It's funny that Annie should have mentioned my post on canning cherries, because here I am at the moment, up to my elbows in glorious just-off-the-tree Washington peaches.
This is our first time canning peaches (and, let's be honest, Dh is really the canning mastermind around here) but our first batch went pretty well, and we'll be finishing up tonight.
As for our week... on Saturday we quite literally got to "paint the town"...
But since then it has been pouring rain, so we ditched a lot of our usual park days and stuff for some more indoorsy pursuits. I've been reading, spinning (props to Lori Lawson for the gorgeous roving)...
and watching movies (mostly lovely Jane Austen period pieces, but today it was "Who Killed the Electric Car"). Yesterday I had to take the dog to the vet yesterday because she got a few flea bites that resulted in a huge allergic reaction... so it looks like she'll need to be on flea meds from now on instead of just Brewer's Yeast. In the meantime she needs to wear one of those big stupid satellite dish collars so that she can't chew on her itchy spots anymore... poor baby.
In a few days the kids and I will be heading out of town for a few days, which should be lovely, especially if the good weather decides to make a comeback.
