We all went to watch the Seahawks play the Atlanta Falcons yesterday, which was a lot of fun. I’ll come right out and admit the football isn’t a sport I really follow, though Dh watches a lot of games so I get a bit by osmosis. I love sports in general, though, and it’s always fun for me to go see a live game, no matter what it is. This game was great to watch – it really looked like the Seahawks were actually going to pull of an amazing comeback, which had us on the edge of our seats quite a bit…
but unfortunately, it was not to be.
One of the things I loved most, however, was our seats. They belong to a friend, and they are right up front, on the tunnel where the players enter and exit.
You can literally reach down and high-5 them as they walk past. If you are “lucky” they will even throw you a piece of sweaty gear that you can keep forever, though it helps if you are young and cute, and by that I mean about 5-10 years old with freckles or something. My kids usually do pretty well :)
They also usually bring the Seahawk mascot around and let you pet her. This is probably the highlight of the whole game for miss Z.
The other mascot (Blitz) usually visits too.
Of course you also get a really good view of everything going on in the endzone (even if it isn’t exactly what you want to see, like the falcons celebrating below).
We got a pretty good view of the sidelines too, where there was always a lot going on - and helps give the kids something to watch when the players are just standing around in a time out or something. Of course there was also a nice collection of loud, foul-mouthed drunks behind us, so we always had that as backup source of entertainment, though they chilled out a bit after their chat with arena security. If you can be heard mouthing off in the noisiest arena in the NFL, maybe you need to take it down a notch, folks.
Good times. Still would have been way better with a win, though, and grumpy players give way fewer high-5s on their way out to the locker room :)
